Drinking Water Quality in Scotland 2002
4. Scottish Water Results (by Local Authority)
In The Water (Scotland) Act 1980 and The Water Supply (Water Quality) (Scotland) Regulations 1990 Scottish Water is required to keep local authorities informed about the quality of water in their areas. Now that Scottish water supplies are provided by a single entity "Scottish Water" a regional breakdown is provided by local authority area. Clearly the presentation of these data by Local Authority area will provide some local interest in this report.
This chapter provides detailed information in respect of the water quality in supply zones located within each of the thirty-two (32) local authorities, which are supplied by Scottish Water.
A map with a key, which indicates each local authority, appears below.
Each local authority page provides information on the names of the zones located within the local authority boundary. The pages also provide details of any incidents/events, which took place during 2002 in which either bottled water was made available or a boil water notice issued.
Finally, the local authority comments on its dealings with Scottish Water during 2002 are also provided.
For ease of reference the local authorities are dealt with in alphabetical order.
