2. There are separate Air Quality Regulations for Scotland, England and Wales. Amendment Regulations for Scotland came into force on 12 June 2002. Amendment Regulations are expected to come into force towards the end of 2002 for England, and shortly thereafter for Wales.
3. The statutory responsibility to review and assess air quality, designate Air Quality Management Areas and develop action plans falls to all local authorities in Scotland.
4. Statutory consultees are those set out in Schedule 11 of the 1995 Act: Scottish Ministers; Scottish Environment Protection Agency; neighbouring local authorities; any National Park authority; other public authorities; local business; and others as appropriate (including the public)
