Inpatient Patient Experience Survey
27/07/2010
The provisional results of the Inpatient Patient Experience Survey were published by the Scottish Government today.
Minister for Public Health and Sport Shona Robison said:
"These statistics show the provisional results of the Better Together Inpatient Patient Experience survey for hospitals in Scotland. I'm sure NHS Boards will find them helpful, and will want to begin to act on these preliminary results as early as possible.
"These surveys were commissioned because we want to know what patients think about their experiences of the treatment and care they receive so that we can improve services and the full analysis of these results will be published in the September.
"It is always disappointing when a patient has an unsatisfactory experience from the NHS and we expect NHS boards to use the results of these surveys to drive up standards of care. Ensuring that the quality of care patients receive is of the highest standard is the top priority for Scotland's NHS and that is why we are taking forward the Quality Strategy, our blueprint for improving every aspect of patient care and experience."
