Critical care statistics
27/07/2010
Minister for Public Health Shona Robison today commented on statistics published by the Scottish Intensive Care Society Audit Group.
Ms Robison said:
"The Scottish Intensive Care Society Audit Group was first set up by government in the 1990s and each year since has improved the range and quality of data available to monitor critical care quality across Scotland.
"This report demonstrates - yet again - the Scottish Government and NHS commitment to patient safety and qualitative improvements for patients year on year. It is clear that mortality rates are steadily improving and I welcome that.
"It is only by undertaking high quality audits of this kind that we can support NHS Boards in targeting their quality improvement efforts."
