College of Europe
28/02/2010
Postgraduate students from Scotland intending to study at the College of Europe in Bruges next year will continue to receive financial support from the Scottish Government.
The Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, Mike Russell, re-assured future students in light of previous uncertainly surrounding funding from other administrations in the UK.
He said:
"The College of Europe is one of the EU's most prestigious graduate schools. That's why I consider it important that the Scottish Government continues to provide support for the very small number of students from Scotland who each year apply to study there. This will enable them to access a range of courses in key areas such as European law and economics and continue to enrich their skills and learning."
Established in 1951, The College of Europe offers a range of one-year postgraduate courses in the fields of law, politics, economics, International Relations and Diplomacy. Last year the Scottish Government funded two postgraduate students at the College.
Postgraduate students from Scotland applying to study at the College of Europe are eligible for tuition fee and grant support.
