Scotland's Chief Statistician today published statistics that measure progress against HEAT target E7: Electronic Management of Referrals. Further information on these statistics is included below:
HEAT target (E7) Electronic Management of Referrals
These statistics show the percentage of GP referrals that are sent electronically to secondary care through the SCI Gateway, as well as the percentage of referrals from GPs to consultant led secondary care that are managed electronically.
- The proportion of all referrals received through SCI Gateway by NHS Boards in Scotland increased by 9 percentage points from 82.7 per cent in April 2009 to 91.1 per cent in December 2009.
- The percentage of referrals that were managed electronically was 22.4 per cent in December 2009, increasing from 8.7 per cent in April 2009.
