14/11/2009

One further H1N1 death has been reported in Scotland.

An adult patient from NHS Dumfries and Galloway, who had underlying health problems, has died after contracting H1NI.

This brings the Scottish total of H1N1 related deaths to 37.

Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon said:

"This is another tragic loss and I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to the patient's loved ones.

"Vaccination is our best defence against this virus and I urge everyone who is in the priority groups to accept the vaccine when invited to do so."
