Plastics recycling

23/03/2009

Minister for Environment Roseanna Cunningham visited Kacey Ltd, an innovative recycling business in Auchterarder today.

Ms Cunningham said:

"I am delighted to be visiting Kacey Ltd, a local business that has shown real initiative by manufacturing 100 per cent recycled plastic products such as picnic tables and chairs.

"The next year is going to be hugely significant for our aspirations to make Scotland a zero waste society. I also hope to see further improvements on recycling and landfill rates as we approach our first target of having 40 per cent of municipal waste recycled or composted by 2010.

"The £5 million capital grants scheme, launched earlier this year, will help increase the amount of plastic recycled in Scotland. It also offers businesses considerable financial benefits to be taken advantage of - particularly welcome in these difficult economic times."
