Comments sought on Foot and Mouth

Scotland's farmers have today been urged to contribute to the review into the response to the recent outbreak of foot and mouth disease in Surrey.
The Scottish Government is seeking written comments on:
- The relevance of current contingency planning arrangements
- The development of the disease handling strategy
- Co-ordination between delivery partners including local authorities and the Animal Health Agency
- Liaison and communication with other UK Governments
- Communication with stakeholders
- The use of scientific and veterinary expertise
- How best to minimise the disruption to Scotland of a remote disease outbreak within GB
Comments should be submitted to mailbox (FMDreview@scotland.gsi.gov.uk) or the postal address detailed below, by January 25 2008.
