Scottish Dental Practice Board

09/10/2007

The 2006-07 annual report of the Scottish Dental Practice Board (SDPB) 2006-2007 has been published.

The report notes that after a challenging year, a streamlined and modernised new Statement of Dental Remuneration (nSDR) was handed over to the Scottish Government on schedule and that the SDPB achieved its strategic goals for the year.

Chairman, Donald B McNicol, said:

"I am delighted to report on the success of SDPB and that this years Annual Report provides additional areas of information to reflect the changing nature of the provision of NHS dental care in Scotland. For example there has been an increase in the number of dentists in Scotland and a reduction in the number of fillings, extractions and root fillings being done.

"In the coming year we look forward to continuing to promote the provision of quality healthcare within the NHS and assessing the impact of the new allowances and payments made to practitioners throughout Scotland."
