Forth Valley NHS Board

Health Minister today announced the appointment of Mr Brendan Clark and Dr Vicki Nash to Forth Valley NHS Board.
Mr Brendan Clark is a chartered accountant who is currently employed as a Senior Auditor with Audit Scotland who are responsible for almost all of the public sector audits in Scotland. His previous experience includes 23 years in local government finance at a senior level. He does not hold any other ministerial appointments.
Dr Vicki Nash is Director, Scotland for Ofcom, the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries. Her previous experience includes 16 years local government, including Chief Executive of Fife Regional and East Dunbartonshire Councils, and regulation of the water industry in Scotland. She is a Board member of Scottish Ballet. She holds no other Ministerial appointments.
Both appointments will be for four years from May 1, 2006 to April 30, 2010.
These posts are part time with a time commitment of eight hours per week for which the annual remuneration is £7,490.
Forth Valley NHS Board is responsible for the strategic planning of health services and the development of measures to improve the health of the community in the Forth Valley region.
These Ministerial appointments were made in accordance with the Code of Practice issued by the Office of the Commisioner for Public Appointments in Scotland.
All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees' political activity (if any declared) to be made public. Within the last five years, none of the above appointees have been involved in any political activity.
