The Suckler Cow Premium Scheme opened for applications on July 1 and will close on December 6.

The rules which apply to the Suckler Cow Premium Scheme can be found in the Notes for Guidance, which accompany the premium claim form. Copies can be obtained from SEERAD Area Offices or can be downloaded at: www.scotland.gov.uk/agri/.

The value of Suckler Cow Premium for 2002 is £123.89 per head, reduced to £120.17 by modulation. Advance payments, which are 80 per cent of the £120.17, started issuing to claimants on November 13.
