New Head of Food & Agriculture at SEERAD

David Middleton has been appointed to head the Food and Agriculture Group in the Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department. He will take over in October, when David Crawley, the present Head, moves to become Head of the Scotland Office.
David Middleton is currently Head of the Local Government, Europe and External Affairs Group in the Finance and Central Services Department of the Executive. His previous career was in the Scottish Office, where he worked on housing, urban regeneration and personnel issues, and served as Private Secretary to the then Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries between 1982 and 1984.
