Leslie Evans, Director-General Learning & Justice
Leslie Evans joined the Scottish Government in September 2000.
She was Director-General Education and was appointed DG Learning & Justice in December 2010. Her previous postings in the Scottish Government include Director of Culture, External Affairs and Tourism; the financing and policy for Scotland's local government (including distributing £8 billion funding, electoral reform and council tax), Executive agencies and non-departmental public bodies; and the public service reform agenda.
Prior to joining the Scottish Government, Leslie spent 20 years working for urban and rural local authorities in England and Scotland.
