Graeme Dickson was appointed Director-General Enterprise Environment & Digital in December 2011.

Graeme Dickson began his career as a geophysicist in the oil industry before joining the Civil Service in HM Treasury in 1987. He transferred to the then Scottish Office in 1994.

He was promoted to SCS Director level in 2001 and spent over 6 years in the Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Department in Glasgow dealing with enterprise and energy, covering business, energy and tourism, regional selective assistance and innovation grants and European funding.

He returned to the Health portfolio in 2008 and was Director of Health and Social Care Integration until taking up this role in 2011.
