Biography - Moira McCrossan

Moira McCrossan is recently retired as a primary head teacher in Dumfries and Galloway.

She was President of the Educational Institute of Scotland at the time of the McCrone Inquiry and was involved in preparing evidence and in subsequent working groups towards the agreement. She was then active in developing and monitoring the implementation of 'A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century', both nationally and locally.

She served as a member of the General Council of the STUC, the Women's Committee of the STUC and the Women's National Commission.

She has written on education and travel for a range of publications including the Times Educational Supplement, the Herald and a variety of magazines. She is co-author of numerous travel guide books including AA Essential Scotland and AA Spiral Scotland and continues to work as a writer.
