At 1 April 2009, 776 staff had recorded a response on their religion or belief as part of our diversity monitoring processes through our electronic Human Resources system.

Of these, 369 employees declared that they had no religion or belief and a further 41 employees recorded that they preferred not to tell us their particular religion or belief.

337 were Christians (Church of Scotland, Roman Catholic or other Christian denominations).

9 were Muslim. 7 were Buddhist and 7 were Pagan.

The remaining employees recorded that they were either Jewish, Sikh or Hindu (we do not disclose numbers less than five to protect the confidentiality of individual employees).
