Information Requested
A list of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests received by the Scottish Executive from Labour and Liberal Democrat MSPs
Information Provided
Every request for information which the Scottish Executive receives is handled in accordance with the Act. In general requests for information are handled routinely and are not all recorded or counted centrally. However some requests are recorded centrally.
Requests for information are treated, for the purposes of the Act, as applicant "neutral" as to source and purpose of the request. Public authorities are not, therefore, required to monitor sources of requests. However, as a body with an interest in the implementation and use of the Act, the Executive is monitoring, where it is notified, the sources of requests to the Executive. We do, therefore hold information on centrally recorded requests from MSPs where the applicant has clearly identified themselves as an MSP.
In light of the above background, the only FOI request which was centrally recorded and was made by a Labour or Liberal Democrat MSP who clearly identified himself as an MSP in the request was a request by Donald Gorrie MSP. The request was for a copy of the HM Inspectorate of Education advice on the proposed merger of St Andrew's High School and St Bride's High School, East Kilbride.
