Purpose

To contribute to the Scottish Government's central purpose - increasing the rate of sustainable economic growth - by working with partners to ensure the right quality, quantity and types of housing and places for people to live, work and flourish; and to ensure the delivery of a successful Commonwealth Games with an effective Scotland-wide legacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the provision / improvement of sustainable and decent quality housing;
  • Offer a greater choice of new and existing housing for all families and individuals;
  • Increase the supply of housing, and particularly affordable housing, across a mix of tenures;
  • Create /sustain communities to ensure people have the opportunity to live, work and flourish;
  • Deliver the Commonwealth Games on time and on budget and secure a lasting games legacy for Scotland
