This reports on the work of the Information Services and Information Systems Division of the Scottish Government. It sets out theur key deliverables and intended improvements for the business year 2011/2012.
Purpose
- To enable effective access to and use of information and technology, supporting of the Scottish Government, its Agencies and other Public Bodies in delivering their agreed business outcomes for the Scottish people
- To contribute to making the experience of working for the Scottish Government more simple, manageable and meaningful
Key responsibilities
- Develop, support and improve cost effective ICT Shared Services for the SG and partner bodies
- Develop and support the underpinning technology enabling new, more flexible responsive and collaborative ways of working
- Improve corporate systems and processes to reduce cost, duplication and complexity and respond to customer feedback and ideas
- Actively promote the green ICT agenda as a means of meeting both the Scottish Government's carbon reduction targets and delivering cost savings
- Work with the wider public sector in Scotland and across the UK to agree and set standards (including
- Information standards, Data Sharing protocols and technical interoperability standards,) and to share Information Assurance good practice
- Release the full potential of our staff at all levels through staff engagement strategies, focussed learning and development opportunities and high quality performance management
- Provide policy, tools and support to protect our information and assets and ensure that these are utilised effectively
