Purpose

Through our work and strong leadership on patients, public and health professions policies, we will support Ministers, the Scottish Government and the NHS to deliver safe, effective and person centred NHS care and a safe, effective and person centred healthcare system.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead on Person Centred Ambition of the Quality Strategy
  • Lead on policy relating to patient support and public involvement, including rights, equality issues , complaints
  • Professional leadership of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied Health Professions (NMAHP) and Health Care Science ( HCS) Workforce
  • Leading, coordinating and supporting the NMAHP and HCS contribution to the NHS Quality Strategy
  • Modernise and improve NMAHP & HCS Care Services and Standards of Practice
  • Develop the capacity and capabilities of the NMAHP and HCS workforce to meet policy priorities, changing health needs and public expectations.
  • Lead on all aspects of HAI Policy
  • Lead on Health Professions and Workforce Regulation
